How to Get Your HVAC Technician License in Alaska
Meet Basic Requirements
Be at least 18 years old with a valid ID. Pass a background check.
Complete Education
High school diploma or GED; HVAC certification or associate degree preferred
Gain 3 Years of Experience
Minimum 3 years of HVAC work experience or completion of HVAC apprenticeship program.
Pass the HVAC Contractor Exam
Register with PSI Services and pass the required licensing exam.
Obtain Insurance & Bonding
Secure General Liability, Workers Compensation insurance and a $12,500 surety bond.
Submit Application
Apply to the Alaska Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing. Pay the application and license fees.
