How to Get Your Low Voltage Technician License in California
Meet Basic Requirements
Be at least 18 years old with a valid ID. Pass a background check.
Complete Education
High school diploma or GED; electronics or telecommunications training preferred
Gain 2 Years of Experience
Minimum 2 years of low voltage system installation experience.
Pass the Low Voltage Technician Exam
Register with PSI Services and pass the required licensing exam.
Obtain Insurance & Bonding
Secure General Liability insurance.
Submit Application
Apply to the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Pay the application and license fees.
