Completion of a 4-year plumbing apprenticeship or 8,000 hours of supervised experience.
Complete Apprenticeship
Complete 8,000 hours of apprenticeship training.
Pass the Journeyman Plumber Exam
Register with Prometric and pass the required licensing exam.
Obtain Insurance & Bonding
Secure General Liability, Workers Compensation insurance.
Submit Application
Apply to the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Pay the application and license fees.
